Benefit Shows Galore / Magic Bag / New Video

Hi Folks!!!

It's been busy, busy busy around these parts.  Lots of shows coming up for good causes and plenty of new media for you to check out! I've been reading some really inspirational books that have been getting me off my butt and out into the world!!!  Check out Russell Simmons book "Do You!" if you need a spiritual kick in the pants : )

So here is a video I've recently recorded with my friend Grahm Lapp.  We basically just set up the recorder and off we went!  It's a new original song I wrote called "Run"

Coming up this week I will playing two important benefit shows in the Ann Arbor area. The first is a benefit for the earthquake victims in Japan at Sava's Cafe on Wednesday March 30th.  I will be going on at 7pm. Graham Lapp will be joining me on bass!!

Here is a press release for the: event

On March 11, 2011, thousands of lives were horrifically altered. At about 2:46 PM, a massive (9 magnitude) earthquake hit Northeast Japan, triggering a huge tsuna- mi. Since then, there have been numerous powerful aftershocks that continue to shake Ja-pan’s foundation. We at Sava’s have put together a day of celebrations, libations, and do- nations, attempting to raise $11,311 dollars in commemoration of that day.

Come out and show your support for all the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This benefit concert will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, from 8am – 2am at Sava’s located on State Street in the heart of Ann Arbor. For directions go to visit http://savas- restaurant.com online, or visit us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Savas-State- Street-Cafe/104689625971. Attendees will enjoy the sounds of artists such as: Buttonsphere, Future Genies, Leap Year, Derby Mama and many more performers to be announced. Sava’s has offered a dim sum breakfast, jazz brunch, DJs at happy hour, and an acoustic dinner.

Guests will be given the opportunity to donate directly to the Japan Center for International Exchange’s Japan NGO Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund. 30% and drink revenues will be donated to Japanese relief efforts. By donating your time and money, you will bring help to many people. This devastating and historic disaster has affected over 400,000 lives - and now is the time to come together and make it happen.

Also, this Wednesday, March 31st, I will playing at the Corner Brewery as part of "Feed The Folk" a benefit for the Ypsilanti Food Co-op. It is also the CD release party for one of my former songwriting students Nicholas Painter. Come out and support local food and local music!!!

Last but certainly not least, I have been offered the opprotunity to open for Zooropa: A U2 Tribute at the Magic Bag on April 8th!!! It's Tiger's opening day so why not catch some music after the game while you're downtown!!

Hope to see you all soon!

: )
